The Mondial Australian Women’s Hardcourts is a Tier III WTA tour event held each year in January at the Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast.

After making her return to competitive tennis at this tournament last year, Martina Hingis will again be the main drawcard. Hingis will be keen to improve on last year’s semifinal but will meet tough competition in Russian Dinara Safina and rising-star Ana Ivanovic. Local Samantha Stosur and Russian Maria Kirilenko are also set to attract much attention.
